CNC Cut Sheet Generator

RPM, feed rate, depth of cut, stepover, and coolant — one complete cut sheet instead of five separate lookups.

Why this combines several calculators into one sheet

RPM, feed rate, depth of cut, and coolant all come from related but separate reference data on this site (the Cutting Speed Chart, chip load conventions, and general engagement guidance) — normally you'd look each one up separately and reconcile them yourself. This generator runs the same math the individual calculators use and hands back one coherent starting cut sheet for the material and tool you specify.

Depth of cut and stepover here are conservative starting points

10% of tool diameter for axial depth and 40% for radial stepover is a safe, moderate starting pass for a general-purpose setup — a rigid machine, a well-secured workpiece, and good chip evacuation can often push both numbers higher. Increase gradually and watch for chatter, deflection, or excess heat before committing to a more aggressive pass.

Turning uses different math entirely

This generator covers milling and drilling, both driven by chip load per flute. Turning uses a single-point tool and feed expressed directly in inches per revolution — use the Turning Feed & Speed Calculator instead for lathe work.
